World Book Day
What a wonderful day we had in Ryhope Junior School during World Book Day. Children and staff dressed as various characters from their favourite books or used their class novels as inspiration.
Year 6 dressed as characters from their book 'Holes' by Louis Sachar and Year 5 were inspired by 'The Many Worlds of Albie Bright' written by Christopher Edge. The story of Grace Darling and Roald Dahl's 'George's Marvellous Medicine' were a focus in Year 4 while in Year 3, 'The Christmasarus' by Tom Fletcher provided one or two costume ideas.
Among the children, there were several characters from Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland and many more - even a number of Where's Wallies!!
With super activities being carried out in Maths and English based around the World Book Day theme, a wonderfully fun day was had by all. Roll on next year!!!
