Letters to The Council

As part of our History Day we decided to focus on the contributions of local inventor Joseph Swan as well as the current bridges across the River Wear in light (pardon the pun) of the new crossing's imminent naming. We discussed the proposed names for the new Wear crossing and thought that Joseph Swan should have at least been added to the proposed names for voting.  As a result, we decided to write persuasive letters to the local council making our thoughts and feelings known.  Please feel free to read a selection of the letters...
